CardioSoft ECG

When attempting to file an ECG that you have captured, if the software gives an error stating that the PDF file doesn't exist. Can't process further. Follow the steps below to determine the cause and to resolve this issue.

Step 1 - Offline Database
Ensure that your ECG machine is plugged into the PC.
Open CardioSoft from the desktop.
In the bottom right-hand corner, make sure the Database says Online. If it says online, click on the button, and it will switch to Online.
Quit Program.
Try your ECG again.

Step 2 - PDF Export Isn't Enabled

Ensure that your ECG machine is plugged into the PC.
Open CardioSoft from the desktop.
Click System Configuration on the right-hand side.
Click Export to the bottom right.
Put a tick in the PDF tick box option for Export after each examination.
Click OK.
Click Quit Program

You can now attempt to take your ECG again, and the PDF should now export.

When you get this error message, it indicates that there is an issue with the option codes configured within the CardioSoft software. Follow the steps below to check the option codes and how to correct this.

Step 1 - restart the software
Click OK on the error message
Click on Home in the top right-hand corner.
Click on Quit Program in the bottom left-hand corner.
Click OK
Ensure the ECG machine is plugged into the PC correctly before trying again.
If the error reoccurs, move to step 2

Step 2 - Checking the option codes.
Click OK on the error message
Click on the Home button in the top right-hand corner.
Click on System Configuration on the right-hand side.
Select the Option Code tab at the top of the window.
Down the left-hand side, if you can only see all red Xs, this indicates that the correct Option Codes are not applied.
Close the window by clicking OK
Click Quit Program
Click OK

Step 3 - Applying the correct codes

In the Choose device box, use the drop-down menu to locate your ECG machine.
If it is your own ECG machine, this will often be called ECG - <serial number> or simply ECG1
If it is one of our loan machines, it will be called CAMConnect_<machine number>

If you get the error message Acquisition module not connected! Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.

Step 1 - restart the software
Click OK on the error message
Click on Quit Program in the bottom left-hand corner.
Click OK
Ensure the ECG machine is plugged into the PC correctly before trying again.

Step 2 - check that the software can detect the ECG machine
If step 1 doesn't resolve the problem, you will need to check that the software is detecting the ECG machine.
Click OK on the error message
Click on System Configuration
Click on the Option Code tab at the top of the window
Look for the Internal Serial Number. If it's 0, that means the software isn't detecting the device
Click OK, then close the software down again.
Move the ECG machine to a different USB port and try again.

If you get an error message stating Less than 15% Storage, this indicates that the computer C:\ drive has less than 15% capacity.

To get rid of the error message:
Open CardioSoft
Click System Configuration
Click Database
Change the information to user number from 15 to 5, then click OK
Click Quit Program.

This usually means that one or two of the limb leads are struggling to gain a connection with your patient. Start by checking the right arm and left leg limb leads. If either of these two leads have a problem the machine will not be able to give you any traces.

If still having problems, it may indicate an issue with the electrode contact to your patient. Usually this means there maybe something on the patient’s skin blocking contact, or the gel in the electrode is dry.

Remove all limb lead electrodes from your patient. Clear the areas of any residual gel from the electrodes using an alcohol wipe and dry with a paper towel. This should also remove anything on the patient’s skin that may have previously been blocking contact with the electrode.

Once done apply a fresh set of electrodes from a brand-new unopened packet.
