The SpiroConnect® replacement turbine provides a reliable solution for maintaining uninterrupted spirometry testing. Keeping a spare turbine available can help minimise downtime if your current turbine is lost or damaged, or when it is being cleaned/disinfected.
Cleaning/disinfection is a quick and straightforward process, however the turbine must be left to air dry before reuse. For this reason, having a spare turbine available can be particularly useful in busy clinical environments.
A spare turbine is also beneficial when testing patients where enhanced infection control procedures are required, such as those with suspected or confirmed respiratory infections.
Please note that additional turbines are supplied with a 90-day warranty and are not covered by an existing SpiroConnect MediServe contract.
Accuracy and Calibration
SpiroConnect® turbines are engineered to provide highly consistent measurement characteristics and are widely regarded as interchangeable. However, in accordance with best practice and ATS/ERS spirometry guidelines, a calibration check must be performed whenever a turbine is changed. Calibration is performed quickly and simply within the SpiroConnect PC software, ensuring minimal disruption to your workflow while maintaining measurement accuracy and compliance.
Important Requirements
SpiroConnect® users wishing to purchase additional turbines must:
- Own a 3-litre calibration syringe - serviced in accordance with the latest ATS/ERS spirometry guidelines.
- Perform a calibration check every time the turbine is changed - using the calibration routine within the SpiroConnect PC software.
- Follow recommended cleaning and disinfection procedures - in line with the guidance provided in the SpiroConnect user manual.
