The CO Check Pro Baby carbon monoxide breath monitor has been designed specifically for midwives working in smoking cessation to quickly and efficiently carry out breath tests whilst providing fast accurate results.
From a single breath, the results of the CO Check Pro Baby are displayed instantly in parts per million (PPM) and % carboxyhaemoglobin (%COHb). Clear visual guidance is also provided with coloured red, yellow and green indicators dependent on the concentration of exhaled carbon monoxide, indicating if the person is a non-smoker, light smoker, or heavy smoker.
The CO Check Pro Baby will also provide the level of foetal carboxyhaemoglobin. There is a clear correlation between the exhaled carbon monoxide on the pregnant mothers breath and that of the % carboxyhaemoglobin in the foetal blood supply (%FCOHb).
The CO Check Pro is also capable of detecting environmental CO levels. When the Environmental Capture is enabled, background CO levels are taken into account when carrying out a breath test. This ensures that any possible environmental exposure can be clearly identified. Environmental levels are displayed in PPM.

Is the monitor CE Marked?
Is it IEC 60601 Electrical Safety Standard Compliant?
Is the useful life of the device 2 year or 5 years?
The device has a 5 year warranty except for the electrochemical fuel cell which has an expected life of two years and is therefore excluded from the warranty. The electrochemical fuel cell works in a similar way to a battery and therefore the more you use it the shorter it’s life. The chemical is used up as it combines with the CO in the exhaled breath, which produces a current that is proportional to the CO concentration. In normal use the cell will last at least 2 years but if it is used regularly with high levels of CO, or exposed to abnormally high levels of CO, it may need to be replaced sooner.
