EMIS Link Licence

Transfer spirometry QOF data directly into EMIS.

This unique new software link will allow Asthma and COPD QOF data to be effortlessly transferred from SpidaXpert ™ (Spirometry PC Software) into EMIS. This gives you auditable spirometry data held within patient records (not just attached) saving valuable time and increasing practice revenue.

What equipment/software will you need for the link?

• PC requirements for SpidaXpert™. Click here to view SpidaXpert™ info.
• A Micro Medical spirometer with PC connectivity
• One free USB port for the SpidaXpert dongle (A second free USB port for USB enabled spirometers)
• SpidaXpert ™ Spirometry PC Software (Cat. No. SD5000XP) (Upgrade from Spida5 ™ available: Cat. No. SXPU5000)
• EMIS LV or EMIS PCS
• An annual EMIS Link Licence (Cat. No. EMIS01)

How does the link work?

(This link is for 'live' spirometry only and is not for uploading/exporting previously stored spirometry tests)

1. The patient to be tested is selected from the EMIS database
2. 'SpidaXpert' is selected to run in EMIS mode and patient details are automatically transferred into SpidaXpert
3. 'New Examination' is selected in SpidaXpert
4. The spirometry tests are performed as per the recommended guidelines
5. When completed, the user clicks 'Exit SpidaXpert' and is prompted to export the data
6. QOF data is automatically transferred to EMIS… simple!

What QOF data is transferred to EMIS?

The user predefines the QOF data they wish to transfer to EMIS by selecting the Read Codes available from within SpidaXpert (example shown below).

In addition, the spirometry report from SpidaXpert can automatically be attached to the patient’s records within EMIS. This means that the curves relating to the QOF data can be reviewed if necessary.

• Much faster and simpler than manual entry
• Avoids data transcription errors
• Prevents spirometry tests being attached to the wrong patient
• Allows testing of more patients in less time
